SERBIA AND ITALY RULE 3X3 BASKETBALL

The number one 3×3 team in the world lived up to expectation and maintain their position as the best in the world by winning the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Manila, Philippines. Number one seed Serbia defeated the number eight seed Netherlands 16-13 to lift the trophy in the men’s category.

In the women’s category, eighth seed Italy defeated fifth seed Russia 16-12 to wear the crown as the women 3×3 basketball champion of the world.

The Serbians scored 2/18 2 – Points Field Goal, while the Netherlands scored 0/6 2 – Points Field Goal. The champions were 100% on the Free Throw Line scoring 2/2 as the Netherlands were 83% from the Free Throw Line scoring 5/6. Inside the arc, the Serbians were 91% accurate scoring 10/11 while the Netherlands were 44% scoring 8/18.

In the Women’s final, champions Italy were 50% from outside the arc scoring 2/4 while Russia scored 0/5. The champions were also 50% from the Free Throw Line scoring ½ while Russia were 100% scoring 4/4. Both teams had 42% in scoring inside the arc but the Italians had more attempts and scored more with 11/26 compared to 8/19 by Russia.
